Last meeting: Ben Terefenko threw three touchdown passes as Wyomissing defeated Trinity 48-3 in Week 3 of the 2018 season. Alyas Branford-Williams had a pair of TD catches and Tim Kowalski ran for 115 yards and two scores. The Spartans went on to finish 9-3.

Spartans update: Entered season ranked No. 2 in the state in Class 3A by PennLive.com and have lived up to the billing, with shutouts of Kennard-Dale and Pottsville. . . Have recorded back-to-back shutouts for first time since recording three straight early in 2020 season, over Plymouth-Whitemarsh, Kutztown, Schuylkill Valley. . . Had two shutouts last season, against Schuylkill Valley and Middletown. . . Held Pottsville to 54 rushing yards on 23 attempts last week in 49-0 win. . . Defense allowed just seven first down and 129 total yards. . . Have six takeaways and two turnovers. . . Soph Derek Macrina has INTs in each game. . . Allowing just 66 rushing yards per game. . . Fast fact: Wyomissing has opened with back-to-back shutouts for the first time since 1982, when it shut out its first three opponents: Big Spring, Kutztown and Muhlenberg. This is just the second time in program history the Spartans have opened with consecutive shutouts.
Did you know? Trinity owns a 2-1 record over Wyomissing in the postseason, including a 28-0 win in the 2010 District 3 Class 2A championship game.

Shamrocks update: Opened with 35-7 win at Delone Catholic before falling to Roman Catholic 41-14 last week. . . The game vs. Roman was halted by officials with 5:41 remaining after a “scrum” broke out along the Trinity sideline, according to a report from PennLive.com. . . Rocks managed just 41 yards rushing. . . Roman beat Wilson 46-15 in Week 1. . . Freshman RB Messiah Mickens, who has an offer from Texas A&M, ran for a pair of touchdowns in season-opener. He was 14 when he received the offer in the spring. . . Mickens was limited to 34 yards on four carries last week. . . TE/DE Wyatt Cooper has committed to play at Stony Brook. . . Return 15 starters, including QBs Caleb Wray and three WRs. . .
