Last season: Quarterback Kaleb Brown ran for 198 yards and a touchdown and Jack Wagner kicked a pair of field goals in Wilson’s 27-12 win at Gurski Stadium. Hempfield led 9-0 in the first quarter after Tanner Hess’ 62-yard scoring run. Bulldogs tight end Corey Powers threw a 21-yard TD pass to Sean Dendall to push the lead to 20-12. Mason Lenart rushed for 79 yards and had an interception for Wilson.


Bulldogs update: Have won three straight and can clinch at least a tie for the Section 1 title with a win… Close the season against Manheim Township, which is a game back in Section 1 after losing to Hempfield 17-14 last week… Seeking 28th Section 1 title and 29th in the LL overall… QB Brad Hoffman ran for a career-high 195 yards and two TDs last week in 49-24 win at Cedar Crest… Jadyn Jones rushed for 162 yards and leads team with 632 rushing yards and 10 TDs… Cameron Jones has nine TDs, six in the return game… Gavin Lenart leads team with 32 tackles, including three for loss… Dominic Memmo leads team with 6 1/2 tackles for loss… Nick Weitzel has team-high four sacks… Sean Dendall leads team with two INTs… Alex Worley has two blocked kicks.
Did you know? By beating Hempfield and Manheim Township, Wilson will claim back-to-back Section titles for the first time since 2016, when it won the last of nine straight titles. In the Lancaster-Lebanon League’s first 49 seasons the Bulldogs have won a record 27 titles. McCaskey is next with nine.


Black Knights update: QB Cameron Harbaugh has thrown for 1,282 yards and leads the team in rushing, with 565 yards… He has offers from Valparaiso and Butler… Adam Acker leads team with 36 catches… Thomas Minnich is average 23 yards on his 12 catches, with four TDs… Defense has been consistent throughout the season… Allowing 243 total yards per game… Held ManheimTownship to season-low 14 points last week… Returned just five starters from last season’s 4-4 team…Ranked No. 6 in District 3 Class 6A power ratings, two spots ahead of Wilson.
Fast fact: Wilson has won 15 straight in the series. Hempfield’s last win came in 2005, one season before Doug Dahms became Bulldogs head coach.
Series flashback 2015: The Bulldogs got the go-ahead score in the 15-9 victory when H-back Alex Twiford took a direct snap and scored on a 3-yard run with 2:13 left. That helped extend Wilson’s Lancaster-Lebanon League winning streak to 52, tying Manheim Central for longest in league history at the time. It was the latest point during the streak that the Bulldogs scored to take the lead. Twiford’s score capped a 60-yard, four-minute drive. Bailey McElroy ran for 31 yards on the drive and finished with a game-high 119 yards. Hempfield, which entered the Week 6 game unbeaten, scored on a kickoff return and took a 9-7 lead on a third-quarter safety.
