Last season: Nick Singleton rushed for 248 yards on 13 carries, Brandon Strausser gained 171 yards, and each scored two touchdowns as the Mustangs won 56-14 at Mifflin Stadium. The Mustangs led 42-7 at the half.

Fast fact: Exeter’s 77 points last week are the most scored in a Berks football game since 1914, when Reading High scored 96 against Pottstown. The Red Knights scored 83 in a win over Allentown in 1913. Exeter’s point total is third-highest in Berks history.
Did you know? Gov. Mifflin has won five straight and 14-of-15 in the series. Exeter’s only win in that stretch came in 2015, when Michal Menet helped rally the Eagles form a 14-0 deficit to win 35-21. They went on to win the Section 1 title.

Series flashback 2014: Jan Johnson ran for three first-half touchdowns as the Mustangs built a 28-6 lead en route to a 31-28 victory. Johnson finished with 168 rushing yards, 97 passing yards, kicked a career-best 40-yard field goal an blocked a PAT. The Eagles mounted a fierce comeback, scoring three fourth-quarter TDs, the last a 2-yard TD run by Chase Yocum that cut the league to three with 8:08 left. They never got the ball back, as the Mustangs ran out the clock.
Fast fact: Since joining the Berks Football League in 2004, Gov. Mifflin has gone 15-2 vs. Exeter, with 12 section titles.
