LEBANON — Currently on the outside looking in at the District 3 football playoff picture, Gov. Mifflin piled up 305 yards on the ground and six different players scored rushing touchdowns in a 45-0 Lancaster-Lebanon League Section 2 romp past Lebanon Friday.

The Mustangs (2-2, 4-4) also gave head coach Jeff Lang his 50th career victory.

Grady Garner had one touchdown and a game-high 101 yards on 12 carries to lead the Mustangs’ balanced running game.

Antonio Alvarez kicked off the scoring with a 17-yard touchdown to give Mifflin a 6-0 lead just 3:06 into the game.

Lebanon (0-4, 0-8) followed that with its best drive of the night — an eight-play, 49-yard drive down to the Mustangs 9. Cedars quarterback Paul Trace went 4-for-6 passing for 56 yards, but a pair of penalties helped stall the drive and Derek Infante’s 26-yard field goal was no good.

Trace finished the game 12-for-27 yards and a season-high 141 yards.

The Mustangs needed just six plays to go 80 yards on their next drive — Grady Garner and Brandon Jones had back-to-back 24-yard runs to set up Elias Acevedo-Torres for a 21-yard touchdown — followed by Reese Hohl’s two-point run — to extend the lead to 14-0.

Leading 20-0 after the first quarter, the Mustangs’ Brandon Jones (9 carries for 73 yards) had a 22-yard touchdown to help extend the lead to 28-0. On the next drive, Lebanon was unable to get off a punt and turned the ball over on downs at its own 27. Six plays later, Grady Garner picked up an 18-yard touchdown to give the Mustangs’ a 35-0 lead.

The loss marked the Cedars’ 30th straight defeat and was the second time this season they were shut out, including a Sept. 22 loss at Exeter.

Next week Mifflin plays at Manheim Central while Lebanon visits Warwick.
