Upper Perk tops Fleetwood with two late TDs

PENNSBURG — Mistakes hurt Fleetwood in a big way Friday night.
A shanked punt and a big penalty led to two fourth-quarter touchdowns by Upper Perkiomen and a fumble derailed a last-minute drive as the Tigers fell to the Indians 28-24 in a non-league game at Bill Keeny Stadium.
Fleetwood (2-1) led 24-14 going into the fourth quarter before Zachary Swartz scored his second touchdown of the game on a 7-yard run with 10:34 left and Indians quarterback Logan O’Donnell delivered what proved to be the winning score on a 25-yard scramble with 7:32 remaining.
The win was the first in three starts for Upper Perkiomen.
Czion Bickle scored two of Fleetwood’s touchdowns. His second, on a 55 yard run, gave his team a 10–point lead with 5:09 left in the third quarter.
Brinkley finished with 182 rushing yards.
