Fleetwood beat Kutztown 49-30 Friday in its Berks Football League Section 2 finale to clinch a postseason berth.
Where the Tigers are headed next week still is to be determined.
According to unofficial power ratings posted on the District 3 website late Friday, it appears the Tigers (4-2, 6-4) might barely miss out on a district spot in Class 5A. They were listed at No. 15; the top 14 teams qualify.
If the Tigers don’t make districts they’ll head to the Eastern Conference Class 5A/6A championship game. They were ranked No. 1 in that class before meeting the Cougars (0-6, 2-8).
Fleetwood got two touchdowns apiece from Gavin Morris and Tanner Maddocks in building a 49-0 halftime lead Friday at Tiger Stadium. The Tigers scored on each of their six first-half possessions and got a Pick Six from Mason Musitano.
Gage Moyer also scored, on a 40-yard run, for Fleetwood, making it 28-0 after one quarter.
The loss was the seventh straight for the Cougars, who were 2-1 after three weeks.
Lennon Neiman led Kutztown with 153 yards on 17 carries and two touchdowns. He finished the season with 1,303 yards, second-highest in program history, and matched the school record with 21 TDs in a season. He set a program record with 133 points in a season.
Fleetwood clinched its second winning season in three years, and its third overall in the program’s 21 seasons.
It qualified for the District 3 Tournament just once, in 2019.
