Fearless Friday Football Forecast, presented by State Farm agent Sean Reali (updated with results)

The two most compelling games in the opening week of Lancaster-Lebanon league play both will be played south of the Berks County line.

In Section 2, top contenders Conestoga Valley and Ephrata square off. Our Forecasters are leaning heavily towards the Bucks, but not Forecasting guru Sam Cavilieri; he’s going with the Mounts. What’s Sam know that most others don’t? We’ll find out Friday night.

The other toss-up game comes in Section 3, between Warwick and Solanco. The Mules seemed to be a heavy preseason favorite but the Warriors have looked strong in their first three games, with wins over Lampeter-Strasburg and Cedar Crest. Our Forecasters are bowing to the Warriors in this one.

As usual, the Forecasters have gone en masse with Exeter, Twin Valley, Wilson, and Wyomissing. Joining that elite group is Muhlenberg, which is 3-0 and has made believers of us.

Conrad Weiser almost always beats Fleetwood and the Forecasters have picked up on that, making the Scouts a heavy favorite. But not our leader, Sam; he’s wearing Tiger stripes this week. Again: What does he know that the rest of us don’t?

Each week, MikeDragoSports.com staff writers, photographers, and contributors, along with writers from football partner LNP/Lancasteronline, will pick all the Berks games, along with other selected Lancaster-Lebanon League games.

We’ll keep standings and the Forecaster with the most points at the end of the season will get a (relatively) big prize!

Each correct pick earns one point; if a Forecaster “doubles down” on a Berks team and is correct he gets two points. Each Fearless Forecaster can “down double” on a team only once during the regular season (and once again during the postseason).
