The Fearless Forecasters are mostly on the same page this week, except for the occasional lone wolf seeking that big upset no one else sees coming.

In five different games one Forecaster has gone out on the limb, picking Elizabethtown to upset unbeaten Muhlenberg, or Conrad Weiser to stun Solanco, or Daniel Boone to finally break into the win column by beating Elco, or Kutztown upending Section 5-leading Annville-Cleona.

None of those snipers is taking a shot as potentially lethal as Fearless Sam Cavalieri, who’s risking his share of the midseason lead on Kennard-Dale beating Fleetwood. His tenuous hold on first place is at stake.

It’s tight at the top, with three Forecasters sharing first place halfway through the regular season. It’s not so tight way down at the bottom, though we must extend cudos to Forecaster Brian Markley, who came off the mat last week to pin down the only perfect score: 13-0.

Each week, MikeDragoSports.com staff writers, photographers, and contributors, along with writers from football partner LNP/Lancasteronline, will pick all the Berks games, along with other selected Lancaster-Lebanon League games.

We’ll keep standings and the Forecaster with the most points at the end of the season will get a (relatively) big prize!

Each correct pick earns one point; if a Forecaster “doubles down” on a Berks team and is correct he gets two points. Each Fearless Forecaster can “down double” on a team only once during the regular season (and once again during the postseason).
