Exeter’s Stutzman, Schuylkill Valley’s Spotts among coaches’ All-State picks

This was the year of the tight end in Berks football.
Genuine Stutzman of Exeter and Luke Spotts of Schuylkill Valley, tight ends who led their respective teams to District 3 championship games, are among nine Berks players selected to the Pennsylvania Football News Coaches-Select All-State teams in classes 5A, 3A, and 1A.
The teams are selected in voting by coaches throughout the state.
Teams for classes 6A, 4A and 2A will be released Friday.
Stutzman earned first-team honors in 5A along with teammates Jayden Zandier, at running back, and Logan Wegman, at guard. Exeter outside linebacker Aidan Dauble was a second-team pick, as was Conrad Weiser’s Donovan Gingrich, selected at punter.
Spotts was one of two Class 3A first-team picks from Schuylkill Valley; he is joined by Cooper Hohenadel, picked as a Defensive Athlete. Teammate Logan Cammauf was a second-team pick at outside linebacker. Berks Catholic’s Eric Bennethem was selected as a second-team guard.
Zandier, Wegman, Spotts, and Cammauf were All-State picks last week on the Pennsylvania Football Writers teams, selected by media members.
