Diamond Credit Union Lineman of the Week

Matt Bauer calls the offensive line the heart and soul of the Exeter football team.

Lucas Palange

None of those players stood out as much in Friday’s 56-8 win over Boyertown as junior guard Lucas Palange, who has been named Diamond Credit Union Lineman of the Week.

Palange earned a 93 percent blocking grad, with five pancake blocks.

The Eagles rushed for 271 yards, scored five second-quarter touchdowns and led 49-0 at halftime.

Running back Cabraun Woody rushed for 113 yards and two TDs and Messiah Robinson had 96 yards and a TD.

Palange also had two sacks on defense.

“Lucas is a tough, physical young man with a relentless work ethic,” said Bauer, the Eagles head coach. “He is definitely a leader by example.

“He gives us everything he has on both sides of the ball and I am very proud of his approach to each game.”

The Eagles evened their record at 1-1 with the win; they face Wilson this week at Don Thomas Stadium.

Players considered for the Diamond Credit Union Lineman of the Week honor are nominated by their coaches or by members of the MikeDragoSports.com coverage team.
