LITITZ — Unbeaten Exeter held on to narrowly outlast Warwick 28-21 Friday night in a hard-fought matchup.
Warwick controlled the pace of the game throughout much of the night while Exeter used explosive plays on offense to keep the Warriors at arm’s length throughout the Lancaster-Lebanon League Section 2 game.

Exeter quarterback Riley Martinez suffered an injury late in the game. Martinez received a hard hit early in the fourth quarter and lay motionless for several minutes while trainers and paramedics attended to him.
The sophomore was eventually taken from the field on a stretcher and left the stadium in an ambulance; he gave a thumbs-up sign to his teammates as he was take off the field. The game was delayed for more than 15 minutes.
No update on his condition was available after the game.
Exeter responded to an early Warwick touchdown.
In a matter of minutes, a 7-0 second-quarter lead for the Warriors (0-2, 1-5) turned into a 14-7 deficit. Exeter struck quickly in tying the game when Martinez faked a handoff, sucking in the defense, and raced around the left end and outran two defensive backs down the left sideline for an 82-yard touchdown.
After a long kick return by Keldyn Loraw gave Warwick solid field position, the Warriors had a pass intercepted on their first play by defensive back Nathan Pashley.
The Eagles (2-0, 6-0) wasted no time in driving into the red zone where the Warwick defense forced a fourth down. Martinez came up with another big play, finding Genuine Stutzman on a tight end screen for a 21-yard touchdown.
Warwick threw another crucial interception, a devastating pick by the Eagles’ Aiden Dauble late in the fourth quarter deep in Exeter territory that thwarted a potential scoring drive.
