District playoff history: Twin Valley is making its fifth straight appearance and has earned a win in each of the past three seasons; 3-4 overall. . . . West Perry is making its ninth appearance and looking for its first championship. It lost in the championship game in 2023 and 2022 to Wyomissing and in 1999 to Manheim Central. The Mustangs are 6-8 overall; their last win came in 2023 against Bermudian Springs 42-21.

Fast fact: Twin Valley’s first-string defense has allowed two first-half touchdowns in 10 games.

The Raiders are averaging 54.0 points per game, second-most in the state, and had a winning margin of 46.0, the highest in the regular season in Berks history.  They have mercy-ruled nine of 10 opponents; in eight games the second half has begun with a running clock.

Mustangs update: Earned first-round bye last week after finishing tied for second in Mid-Penn Colonial behind unbeaten Susquehanna Township. . . Tied with Trinity for second. . . Freshman Mason Page has taken over at QB since starter Hayden Fleisher was sidelined with an injury in September. . . Page has thrown for 493 yards and 5 TDs in roughly half a season. . . Main offensive weapon is speedy Adam Yoder, who has 1,248 yards, 12 TDs and is averaging 9.5 yards per carry. . . Evan Jutba is averaging 6.5 yards per carry; he sometimes lines up at QB. . . Beat two district qualifiers, Middletown (38-17) and Big Spring (24-17), as well as Eastern Conference qualifier Upper Dauphin (49-14). . .  Losses came in Week 4 at Susquehanna Township (55-7), the No. 1 seed in Class 4A, and in Week 8 at Trinity (38-14), the No. 3 seed in 3A. . .
