Diamond Credit Union Lineman of the Week
Eric Nangle found huge openings in the middle of the line on his way to 129 rushing yards in Exeter’s 33-21 win over Berks Catholic last week. The Eagles tailback often wasn’t stopped until he reached the third level of the Saints’ defense.
That means the guys in front of him on the offensive line were doing their jobs well. None did it better than junior guard Lucas Palange, who earned a 95-percent locking grade and Diamond Credit Union Lineman of the Week honors.
“Lucas Palange played one of the most complete games I have ever seen Friday night, on both sides of the ball,” said Exeter coach Matt Bauer.

The 5-11, 210-pound junior also started at outside linebacker and did a strong job there, with four tackles for loss, as the Eagles limited the Saints to nine first downs. Overall, he had eight tackles, including a sack.
On the offensive side Palange was credited with three pancake blocks to help the Eagles grind out 174 rushing yards.
“He was relentless and gave absolutely everything he had for his team,” Bauer said. “He is definitely one of our leaders by example, and I am thankful to have the opportunity to have him back another year.”
Palange starts on the offense line along with tackles Sam Orzolek and Anthony Caccese, guard Kyle Lash and center Kyle Helm.
This is the second Diamond Credit Union Lineman of the Week honor for Palange this season. He was also selected after the Eagles’ 56-8 win over Boyertown in Week 2. Earlier this week, Orzolek was named Defensive Player of the Week.
Palange is the season’s only two-time Lineman of the Week.
