Daniel Boone grad completes rare double with Lebanon Valley College
Daniel Boone grad Alex Vassallo completed a rare double Saturday when he caught a team-high six passes and scored a touchdown in Lebanon Valley’s 38-35 Middle Atlantic Conference win over Albright at Shirk Stadium.
That put him over 100 career catches with the Dutchmen; he also had over 100 career catches with the Blazers, from 2018-21.

Vassallo, who has 103 receptions in four seasons in Annville, will get a chance to extend his career when the Dutchmen play Saturday in the Centennial-MAC Bowl Series.
They improved to 6-4 overall, 6-3 in the league and qualified for the series with Saturday’s win.
LVC finished fourth in the MAC standings and will most likely be the third seed in the bowl series. League champ Eastern qualified for the NCAA Tournament.
Brian Dym’s 25-yard field goal as time expired snapped a tied and sent the Dutchmen to victory.
Conrad Weiser grad Logan Klitsch threw for a career-high 321 yards, a career-high four touchdown passes, and rushed for 78 yards with one touchdown to lead Lebanon Valley.
One of his TD throws was a 4-yarder to Vassallo that put the Dutchmen on top 21-14.
Twin Valley grad Trey Freeman finished with 107 receiving yards.
Vasallo leads the team with 27 receptions, 348 receiving yards, and four touchdown catches. He had 28 receptions as a junior, 39 as a sophomore and nine as a freshman.
Vassallo was the Berks Football League Section 1 Wide Receiver of the Year as a senior in 2021 when he caught 44 passes; he was also a first-team pick at defensive back.
