Body Zone Physical Therapy Defensive Player of the Week

Conrad Weiser’s Brett Organtini is the season’s inaugural Body Zone Physical Therapy Defensive Player of the Week.

The 5-9, 170-pound senior returned to his spot at linebacker this season and didn’t miss a beat, making 15 tackles in the Scouts’ season-opener against Cocalico, a 36-21 loss.

Organtini began last season at linebacker, then moved to nose guard to help fill a need and ended up having a big impact.

He led the team in tackles and was named Defensive Lineman of the Year in Section 2 of the Berks Football League and to the All-Berks team as a defensive lineman.

He helped the Scouts complete a perfect regular season and reach the District 3 Class 4A playoffs.

“Brett Organtini epitomizes the kind of player we look for in our program,” said Weiser coach Alan Moyer. “Rough, tough and a great work ethic!

“This is a kid who will run through a brick wall for the Weiser football program. He was one of several players who played both ways on Saturday, as well as most special teams.

“He is a sideline-to-sideline defensive player no matter where he lines up. Brett is 100 percent committed to our TEAM philosophy.”
