Conrad Weiser’s Adam Noll early leader for Berks Specialist of the Year

Conrad Weiser’s Adam Noll has built a big early lead in the race for the annual Berks County Specialist of the Year award.

Noll, who finished second to Daniel Boone’s Nate Millard as a junior, has been good on all 14 extra-point kicks, has eight touchbacks and is averaging 39.3 yards per punt.

The Specialist of the Year standings are based on rankings of extra-point and field goal accuracy, field goal length, touchbacks and punting average.

John Zima, founder of Kick-It and special teams coach at Wyomissing, collects the data and computes the standings. He awards the top finishers at the annual Berks County Football Coaches Association banquet each season. This is the fifth season of the award.

Noll is first with a 73.1 percent rating. Berks Catholic’s Andrew Kurtas is second and Gov. Mifflin’s Jackson Schools is third.

Kurtas, a senior and first-year kicker, has converted 7-of-8 PATs and has the longest field goal of the season in Berks, 44 yards.

Schools, a senior and three-year starter, has been good on 9-of-10 PATs and 2-of-3 field goals.

Mifflin’s Travis Jenkins has been Berks’ top punter, averaging 45.3 yards per kick.

Wyomissing’s Ian Levering has been the highest-scoring placekicker. He’s been good on 31-of-32 PATs.

Millard is the starting punter and handling all kickoffs this season at Kutztown University. He has nine touchbacks on 21 kickoffs and is averaging 41.9 yards on 13 punts.
