A sloppy Conrad Weiser start gave Lebanon hope it could find a way to win its first game in more than four years.

The Scouts cleaned up their act in the second quarter and went on to a 28-6 non-league win over the visiting Cedars Friday night, handing Lebanon its 45th straight loss.
Javien Rivera and Brayden Sweitzer each scored two touchdowns to help the defending Lancaster-Lebanon Section 3 champion Scouts (3-0) overcome a slow start. The Scouts turned the ball over on two of their first three possessions to give Lebanon (0-3) hope.
The Cedars scored their first points of the season and took their first lead when Elijah Reed scored on a 3-yard run early in the second quarter.
Conrad Weiser answered with a 12-play drive, all on the ground, with Rivera scoring from the 1 with 4:10 left in the half. The first of four extra points by Owen Spang put Conrad Weiser ahead to stay.
“We’re not good enough as a team to overcome these obstacles that we’re throwing at ourselves,” said Weiser coach Alan Moyer. “We’ve got to get those things cleaned up. We put some points on the board, but just too many mistakes.”
Rivera scored on an 8-yard run 18 seconds before the half to make it 14-6. In the second half, Sweitzer scored on runs from 25 and 23 yards out to ice the victory.
Trailing 7-6 with one minute left in the first half, Lebanon tried to pick up a first down on fourth-and-5 from its own 45. The Scouts defense held, and Conrad Weiser drove 42 yards in six plays to take a 14-6 halftime lead.
Rivera rushed for 86 yards and two touchdowns and caught a pass for 18 yards.
“I’m proud of these guys,” said first-year Cedar coach Brett Sylve. “Last year, this was a team that came into our house and beat us 41-0. (Our guys) fought in the first half. This was a winnable game.”
