Berks’ All-State football picks: 1990-2025 (expanded)
(These lists reflect only teams selected by the Pennsylvania Football Writers or, prior to that, by the Associated Press. Other organizations have selected All-State teams over the years, as well.)
The Pennsylvania Football Writers select an All-State team for each of the PIAA’s six classifications.
Years ago, the Associated Press selected one overall All-State team, with first-, second- and third-teams, as well as honorable mentions.
In 1990 the AP began selecting Big School and Small School teams. In 2003 the format was changed, to pick an All-State team for each of the PIAA’s four classifications, each with a first and second team.
In 2011, the format switched again and all selections were considered First Team. In 2016, after the PIAA expanded to six classifications, an All-State team was selected for each class.
Here’s a look at the selections from Berks County over the last four decades.
