YORK — Declan Clancy solidified his place among the all-time greats in Manheim Township football history Friday night.
Clancy rushed for 154 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Blue Streaks to a 42-0 non-league victory at York. In the process, the talented tailback became the all-time leading rusher in program history and is tied for the most rushing touchdowns.
“It means a lot,” Clancy said. “A lot of great running backs have come through here. . . I attribute (the record) to the offensive line that I have had for the past three years.”
While Clancy did most of his damage running the ball he showed his versatility by hauling in a 12-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Carson Weisser to open the scoring in the first quarter.
Weisser (7-of-12, 137 yards, two TDs) added another touchdown toss by connecting with Taylor Veilleux for a 33-yard score to put the Blue Streaks in front 14-0.

Manheim Township (3-0) added 28 more points while limiting the Bearcats (0-3) to just 159 total yards.
“A win is a win,” Manheim Township coach Mark Evans said. “Now we are only as good as our next game. . . We were trying to maintain an edge. I thought we lost that edge a little bit in practice this week and I want to make sure we continue to get that back but I am very pleased.”
After partially blocking a punt on York’s opening drive, the Blue Streaks needed just three plays to score on their first possession as Weisser and Clancy connected for the first score. It was all Manheim Township from there.
Clancy accounted for 164 total yards and four touchdowns. He is averaging182 rushing yards per game.
Up next, Manheim Township visits Plymouth-Whitemarsh for a non-league game.
