Brandon George enjoys best game in Pittsburgh rout of New Hampshire
Brandon George recorded a team-high eight tackles in the University of Pittsburgh’s 77-7 win over New Hampshire Saturday.
George, elevated to No. 2 on the depth chart at middle linebacker, had two tackles for loss and was credited with a quarterback hurry as the Panthers improved to 3-1 in taking down the previously unbeaten Wildcats.

George, a junior from Berks Catholic, got extended playing time when SirVocea Dennis, the starting middle linebacker, was held out. Wendell Davis moved into the starting role.
It was George’s most extended playing time this season.
New Hampshire was limited to 160 total yards and eight first down.
The Panthers led 28-0 after one period and 49-7 at the half.
Pittsburgh’s lone loss came Sept. 18 to Western Michigan, 44-41 at Heinz Field.
The Panthers play Georgia Tech (2-2) in their ACC opener Saturday at noon in Atlanta; they won there 34-20 last year in the season finale.
George was a two-time All-State pick for the Saints. He was selected as Linebacker of the Year in Section 2 of the Berks Football League and a Big 33 pick as a senior.
