The Raiders (1-2, 2-4) scored three touchdowns in less than two minutes in a wild fourth-quarter sequence to put the game away.

Up 23-12, Elco’s Paul Williams intercepted a pass and returned it 53 yards for a touchdown.

On the next snap by Daniel Boone (0-3, 0-6), Elco’s Jonathan Zimmerman intercepted a pass.

Elco’s offense took no time adding to the score as Chandler Gass ran a touchdown in from 22 yards out on the next play. The following kickoff was fumbled back to Elco. Brinley Donmoyer finished off the quick rally with a 14-yard run for a 44-12 lead with 5:39 remaining.

That made the Blazers’ two touchdowns in the last four minutes inconsequential as far as the result was concerned.

Gavin Yesier ran for 156 yards on 11 carries for the Raiders, making use of an effective trap play to the right and left multiple times. He had three touchdown runs, of 5, 69 and 24 yards, respectively.

For Daniel Boone, Malachi Rowe caught four passes for 102 yards. Haydn Moyer rushed for 107 yards on 15 carries and scored three times. On offense, he had touchdown runs of 5 and 6 yards. He also ran for a 56-yard touchdown run after a bad snap on a punt turned into six points. He also ran in a 2-point conversion.

Penalties haunted both teams. Elco had 11 flags for 65 yards, while Daniel Boone had nine penalties for 70 yards.

In the third period, Daniel Boone put together an 18-play, 85-yard touchdown drive, which culminated in Dominic Stoudt’s 11-yard touchdown pass to Rowe.

Elco will try to put together a winning streak next Friday at Octorara. Daniel Boone will face Wyomissing at home on Thursday.
