Schuylkill Valley rolled over Pequea Valley 34-6 in a Lancaster-Lebanon League Section 5 game Friday at Leesport.
The Panthers (2-0, 3-2) jumped out to a 14-0 lead in the first quarter. After a 5-yard touchdown run by Brandon Pyle, Tristan Goda recovered a Pequea Valley (0-2, 0-5) muffed kickoff. Junior quarterback Alex Aletras hit Logan Cammauf for a 23-yard score.

The Braves answered with a quick strike of their own. Lebran Woods dashed 62 yards to bring it back to a one-possession game at 14-6.
That was the last time Pequea Valley would find the end zone.
Aletras and Pyle continued to lead the way for the Panthers. Pyle ripped off a back-breaking, 80-yard touchdown run before the end of the first half to make it 21-6.
Aletras connected with wide receiver Anthony Batista two times in the second half for touchdowns. The second, a 74-yard score, made it 34-6.
Of the Panthers’ 329 yards, 154 came on the two big touchdowns by Pyle and Batista.
Aletras threw for 190 yards and three touchdowns on just 10 completions. He also threw one interception but it was due to a ball that went off his receiver’s hands.
Panthers coach Bruce Harbach kept the ball on the ground in the second half to burn the clock.
The Panthers defense held the Braves to 148 rushing yards and 51 passing yards. Outside of the 62-yard Woods runs there were only three plays of 10 yards.
Schuylkill Valley’s Seth Klinikowski had an interception early in the fourth.
Key play of the game
Brandon Pyle’s 80-yard touchdown run came with just 1:02 left in the first half. It proved to be a major momentum shift as it put Pequea Valley in a two-score hole.

Quotable
“I didn’t think we tackled really well, but we made some adjustments at halftime. They caught us on the long run, but then we started to make some substitutions and change the package up a little bit defensively. (Pequea Valley) matched up pretty well. They looked better this week than they did last week. (Braves coach Mike Choi) is doing a nice job.” – Schuylkill Valley coach Bruce Harbach
Quotable
“Our goal every week is to try and play a clean game. We haven’t. It’s fourth-and-3 and we’re jumping offsides. You had two offsides on kickoffs. We had an unsportsmanlike penalty. Those kinds of things upset a head coach.” – Schuylkill Valley coach Bruce Harbach
Quotable
“I think it’s really all about having enough time to throw the ball and for the receivers to get open. It allows me to do what I have to do to make explosive plays. I can always trust (the receivers) to catch the ball and get open. I’m able to use (scrambling) to my advantage; I think if I can extend a play it allows more to happen.” – Schuylkill Valley quarterback Alex Aletras.
