Schuylkill Valley dug out of an early hole and pushed Nanticoke to the wire Friday before falling 21-14 in the Eastern Conference Class 3A championship at Nanticoke.
Michael Goad’s 10-yard touchdown pass to Drew Campbell on fourth down pulled the second-seeded Panthers (2-9) within one score with 4:11 left in the game.

The Trojans, with Zach Fox leading the way, ran out the clock. Fox scored a pair of touchdowns and finished with 143 yards on 26 carries.
Nanticoke (5-6) led 13-0 at the half.
Campbell’s fourth-down pass to Colby Crills, good for 63 yards, pulled the Panthers within 13-7 just 90 seconds into the third quarter.
Nanticoke answered with Fox’s 5-yard run for a 21-7 lead with 1:51 left in the third quarter.
Campbell passed for 149 yards and ran for a team-high 65.
The Trojans did not complete a pass; all of their 274 yards came on the ground.
Nanticoke opened the season 0-4.
Crills had an interception for Schuylkill Valley.
The Panthers end the season with six straight losses.
