Exeter’s Joey Schlaffer commits to Penn State
Joey Schlaffer is keeping it in the family.

The junior wide receiver from Exeter has announced his commitment to Penn State, where his half-brother Michal Menet played for five seasons.
He gave his commitment personally to Penn State coach James Franklin before Saturday’s game vs. Illinois.
The 6-6 Schlaffer has drawn major college interest throughout the spring and summer and decided to play for the Nittany Lions.
“People say when you know, you know, and it’s true,” Schlaffer wrote on Twitter. “The love that I developed coming to Happy Valley for years watching my brother play never left me. People who know me know I had setbacks and they were the first to offer support and advice before anyone else did.
“That’s the culture of the program. Penn State is a special place that I can see myself having lots of success at as a student-athlete.”
Schlaffer said his commitment is officially closed.
Schlaffer has a team-leading 31 catches for 567 yards, and five touchdowns for the Eagles, who are 6-3 and headed to the District 3 Class 5A playoffs.
