Week 9: Fearless Friday Football Forecast (updated with results)

Schuylkill Valley’s visit to Annville-Cleona looms as the Game of the Week in Berks football. First place is on the line in Section 5 of the Lancaster-Lebanon League and our Fearless Forecasters aren’t quite sure which way to go.
The Forecasters are split on this one, leaning ever-so-slightly to the homestanding Dutchmen. It’s interesting to note that the top five Forecasters in the standings have picked Annville-Cleona? Coincidence?
Section 5 is a real coin-flip zone this week. That Northern Lebanon at Hamburg game has the Forecasters panel split as well; the Vikings get the edge.
Otherwise it’s a pretty routine week. The only interesting pick comes in the Exeter at Conestoga Valley game. The Eagles are unbeaten, ranked No. 3 in the state and hasn’t come close to losing. No one has picked against them until now: Sam Cavalieri, Lancaster County’s adopted son, has a hunch about the Buckskins. Hey, when in doubt always go with the locals. That’s what they say.
Each week, MikeDragoSports.com staff writers and photographers, along with Jeff Reinhart of football partner LNP/Lancasteronline, and Daryn Zeiner of Jerry Geleff Media will pick all the Berks games. We’ll keep standings and the Forecaster with the most points at the end of the season will get a big prize!
Each correct pick earns one point; if a Forecaster “doubles down” on a Berks team and is correct he gets two points. Each Fearless Forecaster can “down double” on a team only once during the regular season (and once again during the postseason).
Remember, don’t get too upset if we don’t pick your favorite team. It’s all in the game, right?
