Daniel Boone’s Dean Rotter threw for a career-high 291 yards last week in a loss to Elizabethtown.

Blazers quarterbacks have topped 300 yards in a game six times and 400 yards twice, Jon Monteiro set the Berks record, throwing for 467 yards in a 2008 game vs. Blue Mountain.

Hempfield’s 20-16 win over Wilson last season at Gurski Stadium snapped the Bulldogs’ 16-game winning streak in the series. The Black Knights scored a touchdown with 17 seconds left and went on to win the Lancaster-Lebanon League Section 1 title.

Hempfield has not beaten Wilson in back-to-back seasons since 1993 and 1994.

Wilson leads the series 38-11. Tonight marks the 50th meeting.

Twin Valley was 0-8 against Garden Spot before breaking through with a 27-24 overtime victory in the 2021 season-opener.

The Raiders made it two in a row last season, winning 37-29 at New Holland.

The teams’ first nine meetings were as season-openers, from 2006-07 and 2010-15.

Muhlenberg grad Matt Bauer has beaten his alma mater nine straight seasons and 12 times in 15 seasons as Exeter head coach.
Matt’s father Roger was the Muhls’ head coach from 1977-79. Matt played for John Yocum.

Overall the Muhls lead the series 27-20-1.

Exeter leads Berks teams with 10 interceptions. Seven different Eagles have picked off a pass; Nate Pashley leads the way with three.

The Eagles are ranked No. 10 in the league in total defense.
