10 Questions with Schuylkill Valley’s Drew Campbell, presented by ATT Sports, Inc.

Each Wednesday MikeDragoSports.com goes one-on-one with a Berks football player to find out what’s on his mind — on the field and off.

Presented by ATT Sports, Inc.

Drew Campbell, Schuylkill Valley

Senior quarterback

Ric Flair

Q: If they made a movie about your football team, which actor would play the part of Coach Harbach?

He’s a very unique personality, but I think they’d recruit a guy like Ric Flair to bring the energy and the buzz to the movie like Coach Harbach has brought to our football team.

Q: If you could be recruited by any colleges in the country, which ones would be at the top of the list?

I would want to be recruited by an academy school (Army, Navy, Air Force) to run the Triple Option. I feel like it would be really fun to confuse opponents and watch them try to stop it.

Q: Who’s the high school player you most looked up to when you were a kid?

Without a question, Nick Scheidt (who set the program rushing record in 2013). We used to idolize him as kids when he would just plow right over people. It was always “Scheidt Night” in Leesport!

Saquon Barkley

Q: What’s the best fantasy football draft pick you made this season? And the worst? My favorite pick would be Cooper Kupp. I had a hunch he would have a comeback season and he’s performing really well so far with Matt Stafford.

My worst pick was probably Saquon Barkley. I felt horrible right after I picked him, but I’m still optimistic he’ll get more touches in the coming weeks.

Q: What’s the one play you’ve been dying to run this season, but hasn’t been called?

I’m begging Coach Harbach to give the double reverse I drew up another chance. We ran it once against Upper Perkiomen and what do you know I messed up my own play and missed a block. There was a huge hole, too!

Q: Where do you expect to be and what do you expect to be doing 10 years from now?

I hope to be teaching in a high school, hopefully locally, and maybe even at Schuylkill Valley if that door opens! I also wouldn’t be surprised if I got into coaching, whether it be football or baseball.

Gordon Ramsay

Q: What’s the one TV show that you watch regularly that might surprise people?

Kitchen Nightmares,” with Gordon Ramsay. I think Gordon’s aggressive nature and insults make it pretty funny.

Q: What’s a successful season for Schuylkill Valley?

A successful season for us is to change the losing culture and start to build standards and expectations to win, along with momentum for the Lancaster-Lebanon League, where I’m very confident we’ll compete year-in and year-out under Coach Harbach. I think this year we’ve already made major strides and have been improving significantly every week!

Peyton Manning

Q: If you could use a “lifeline” during a critical moment of a close game, who would you call for help or advice?

I would call Peyton Manning. You can tell he knows football inside and out. I watch him and Eli on Monday Night Football.

Q: What’s your favorite football memory?

Our Midget semi-final game against Twin Valley. Our quarterback went down and I stepped in and threw for a pair of scores, including the game-winner in double-overtime.
