Once again, Nick Singleton is Wyomissing Physical Therapy Offensive Player of the Week
Wyomissing Physical Therapy Offensive Player of the Week
Nick Singleton has set the bar pretty high during four seasons at Gov. Mifflin.
He’s broken nearly every rushing and scoring record in the Berks record book, and when he comes up with a big game no one is the least bit surprised.
“He did what he always does,” said his left tackle, Nate Goodman, after the senior tailback rushed for 248 yards in a key 54-21 Berks Football League Section 1 victory at Exeter. “He did great.”
Singleton scored touchdowns on runs of 64, 43, 8 and 28 yards and once again has earned Wyomissing Physical Therapy Offensive Player of the Week honors.

Singleton pushed his Berks-leading rushing total to 1,270 yards and his career total to 5,537. He has scored a record 98 touchdowns, 90 of them rushing (also a Berks record).
“My night, it was okay, I’m not gonna lie to you,” Singleton said after recording his third 200-yard game this season. “Their defense was really keying on me, but it opened up for everybody else: Trey (Rock), Eden (Johnson), Delsin (McNeil). So it was good today.”
Watching Singleton run gets Mustangs fans excited, as well as his own teammates.
“Having Nick, he’s such a great player,” said fullback Trey Rock. “Just lead-blocking for him is an awesome feeling.”
Singleton picked up a good block on the edge from Goodman, a left tackle, to get clear on his first touchdown. It was his incredible burst that helped finish off the first score and put Mifflin on top 21-0 late in the first quarter.
“The corner had him dead to rights and he just out-ran him,” said Mifflin coach Jeff Lang. “That’s just the kind of thing that kid does for you. Most other running backs, they get pushed out of bounds; Nick just ran by him.”
Singleton announced his commitment to Penn State in July, choosing the Nittany Lions over Alabama, Notre Dame, Texas A&M and Wisconsin. He will enroll at the university in January and compete for playing time as a freshman.
