Fleetwood’s William Maurek wins kicking competition

Fleetwood senior William Maurek swept all three events to win the Berks vs. LL Specialist contest, sponsored by Kick It, Sunday at Hamburg.

Maurek, a senior, finished first in the extra point, punting and kickoff events.

Wilson senior Ben Rada was second overall and Conrad Weiser junior Donovan Gingrich third.

Rada, a second-team all-league pick in Section 1 of the Lancaster-Lebanon League last season, finished second in the extra-point competition, fifth in punting and sixth in kickoffs. He had four field goals and 33 PATs last season for the Bulldogs.

Gingrich, the Scouts’ starting quarterback last season, placed second in the punting and kickoff competitions and third in extra points.

Maurek converted 11 PATs and a pair of field goals last season for the Tigers.

He also plays soccer for Fleetwood and was fourth on the team in scoring last season, with six goals and four assists.
