Gov. Mifflin and Exeter, which meet tonight, are the two highest-scoring teams in Berks, averaging 50.2 and 43.1 points per game, respectively. The Mustangs are one of just seven teams in the state averaging 50 or more points. Steel-High is tops, at 57.0 per game. Mifflin set a Berks record last season by averaging 54.5 points per game.

Doug Dahms is 16-0 against McCaskey since becoming Wilson head coach in 2006, and the Bulldogs have won 19 straight overall vs. Red Tornado. Two of the wins during this streak came in the District 3 Tournament, including a wild fourth-quarter comeback in 2004 that saw Wilson win 35-28 after trailing 28-7.

Friday marks the first meeting between Berks Catholic and Reading High. The two were scheduled to play last season after the Saints moved to Section 1 of the Berks Football League but the Reading School District canceled its fall season. Reading High has been playing football since 1892. Berks Catholic’s first season was 2011.

In a series that dates to 1959, Daniel Boone has beaten Muhlenberg five in a row for the first time. The Muhls had a 19-game winning streak over the Blazers from 1990-2008.

Lennon Neiman needs 106 yards to become the first Kutztown back to rush for 1,000 yards since 2010, when Deidrick Morgan did it. Neiman is second in Berks with 894 rushing yards, trailing only Nick Singleton. The Cougars have had just six 1,000-yard rushers in program history; Morgan did it twice.
