Wilson, Wyo lead Berks’ list of county, district & state champion teams for 2022-23
Wilson won nine BCIAA team championships during the 2022-23 scholastic season, more than twice as many as any other school. The Bulldogs won five boys titles and four girls titles — also more than any other school in each.
Exeter was next with four Berks team championships; Wyomissing won three.
Wyomissing won five District 3 championships, three in boys sports, two in girls. Berks Catholic, Kutztown, Twin Valley and Wilson each won two district titles. In all, 10 Berks different schools won a total of 18 District 3 team championship — 12 of them boys titles.
Reading High, in boys basketball, is the only Berks program to win a PIAA championship. Twin Valley plays for the girls Class 2A lacrosse title Friday against Archbishop Carroll.
