Schuylkill Valley hemmed in by Pottsgrove in 35-0 loss

Amir Brunson scored three second-quarter touchdowns, one on an 87-yard kickoff return, as Pottsgrove defeated visiting Schuylkill Valley 35-0 in a non-league game Friday night.

Brunson also scored on runs of 64 and 13 yards to give the Falcons (2-0) a 21-0 lead at the half.

The loss dropped the Panthers to 0-3.

Drew Campbell led Schuylkill Valley with 36 rushing yards, and with seven tackles.

He completed 8-of-19 passes for 57 yards.

The Panthers managed just 117 total yards and were shut out for the first time since losing 49-0 to Wyomissing last October.

Brunson finished with 128 rushing yards on eight carries.

Pottsgrove quarterback Ryan Sisko threw touchdown passes of 18 and 12 yards in the third quarter to build a 35-0 lead and start the running clock.

Schuylkill Valley plays Upper Perkiomen (1-2) next week in Leesport; the Indians lost to Fleetwood Friday 41-0.

Pottsgrove opened the season with a 39-14 win over Lansdale Catholic.
