Michal Menet cut from Arizona practice squad

Exeter grad Michal Menet has been released from the Arizona Cardinals’ practice squad, according to a report on cardswire.com.

The report said the former Penn State captain was released Monday and replaced on the practice squad by offensive lineman Eric Smith.

The Cardinals did not announce the move, according to cardswire.com; it showed up on the NFL’s daily transactions list.

Menet was a seventh-round draft pick of the Cardinals this spring.

He was released late in training camp, then re-signed to the practice squad.

Menet, a center, faced strong competition making the 53-man roster, what with veterans Rodney Hudson and Max Garcia on the roster.

Smith went undrafted out of the University of Virginia in 2017. He has spent time with the Miami Dolphins, New England Patriots and several other NFL teams.
