The sixth win every season is always a big one at Wilson.
If the Bulldogs beat Penn Manor Friday night they’ll improve to 6-2 and clinch their 47th consecutive winning season, the longest active streak in Pennsylvania high school football.
Wilson has had a winning record every year since 1976.
A win will also clinch the Bulldogs’ 59th consecutive non-losing season, a streak that began in 1964 when John Gurski’s first Wilson team went 5-5, improving from 1-8-1 the season before.
Ridley saw its streak of 54 consecutive winning seasons snapped in 2020 when it went 3-3 in a COVID-truncated season.

One year after spending most of the season ranked No. 1 in the state in Class 5A Gov. Mifflin is looking at the end of Berks’ longest playoff streak.
The Mustangs are 2-5 and ranked No. 19 in the Class 5A power ratings. Even by winning out to finish at .500 they would likely fall short of making the 12-team field.
Mifflin has recorded 18 straight winning seasons, made 18 straight postseason appearances, and qualified for the District 3 Tournament 16 straight years.
The winning-seasons streak began following a 1-9 finish in 2003.

Myers coached at Pottstown for six seasons and Middletown for eight before taking the Raiders’ job this summer.
If he gets the milestone victory this season he’ll be the sixth active Berks coach with 100 wins. Exeter’s Matt Bauer got No. 100 last week.

Among the most impressive records Wilson has compiled is its record against Penn Manor.
The Bulldogs are 30-0 in a series that began in 1992. (It was interrupted in 1998 and 1999 when Wilson moved to Section 2.)
Wilson’s 30 wins in the series include a pair in the playoffs, in 2011 and 2013.
There have been some close encounters. In 2012 the teams were each 8-0 when they met; the Bulldogs squeaked out a 14-7 win. A year later Wilson rallied from a 14-0 deficit at Gurski Stadium to win 21-14.
Penn Manor was 8-0 when it met Wilson in 2008; the Bulldogs won 42-0.
