The longest field goal in Gov. Mifflin history helped Jackson Schools move into a second-place tie in the Berks County Specialist of the Year standings.

The Mustangs senior hit a 51-yard field goal against Conestoga Valley, easily longest of the season in Berks.

Schools is tied with Berks Catholic’s Andrew Kurtas, each with a 48.7 percent rating. Conrad Weiser’s Adam Noll continues to lead, at 69.2 percent.

Noll has been good on 14-of-15 PATs, has four field goals and eight touchbacks.

The Specialist of the Year standings are based on rankings of extra-point and field goal accuracy, field goal length, touchbacks and punting average.

John Zima, founder of Kick-It and special teams coach at Wyomissing, collects the data and computes the standings. He awards the top finishers at the annual Berks County Football Coaches Association banquet each season. This is the fifth season of the award.
