Dominic Caruso’s 5-yard touchdown run in overtime lifted Twin Valley to a 27-24 victory over visiting Garden Spot in its season-opener Saturday.

The game marked the debut of Twin Valley head coach Kris Olsen; it was the Raiders’ first season-opening win since they beat Octorara 41-12 in 2016.
Walker Martin’s 33-yard field goal, his fifth of the game, gave the Spartans a 24-21 lead in overtime before Caruso’s third-down run ended it.

Freeman also scored on an 80-yard pass from freshman quarterback Evan Myers, tying the game 7-7.
Twin Valley nearly won it in regulation, driving 75 yards before turning it over inside the 10 in the fourth quarter.
Twin Valley rushed for 218 yards and had 359 total yards.
Garden Spot scored just one touchdown, a 1-yard run by Tristin Sadowski for a 7-0 lead in the first quarter.
