Body Zone Physical Therapy Defensive Player of the Week: Daniel Boone’s Ethan Kryman
Body Zone Physical Therapy Defensive Player of the Week
Ethan Kryman had a dominant offensive performance for Daniel Boone Friday in a 39-15 win at Muhlenberg Friday, rushing for a career-best 172 yards and scoring three touchdowns.
Would you believe he was even better on the defensive side of the ball?
The junior linebacker spearheaded an effort which saw the Blazers limit Muhlenberg to 76 total yards and minus-3 in the second half.

Kryman was making plays all over the field, recording 13 tackles, including two for loss — one of them on a safety.
He also got in on two sacks, more than enough to earn Body Zone Physical Therapy Defensive Player of the Week honors for the first time.
Kryman was motivated by an 0-2 start and a poor performance by the Blazers the week before in a loss to Conestoga Valley.
“(That) was a punch in the face,” Kryman said of the 42-7 loss. “We needed to wake up, and we woke up. We brought the intensity during practice and the results paid off.”
According to Blazers coach Rob Flowers Kryman brings the intensity every day, all day, to every part of practice. He’s never had a player quite like him before.
“This kid goes all the time,” Flowers said. “He has never gotten a second in anything we’ve done in conditioning since he was a freshman. He is just non-stop, always at a hundred percent. We have to tone him down sometimes. He brings a level of intensity, a level of passion, of love and joy.”
That joy wasn’t shared on the Muhlenberg side of the field, for sure. Kryman was a hammer whether he was playing offense or defense.
The 5-8, 173-pounder turned the game in the Blazers’ favor for good on the second play of the second half when he chased down quarterback Drew Fidler and sacked him for a safety, pushing Boone’s lead to 18-15. Fidler injured his ankle on the play and did not return. Boone outscored Muhlenberg 23-0 in the second half.
The Muhls drove the field and scored just one TD against the Boone defense; the other TD came on a kickoff return.
Kryman had a standout sophomore season, finishing second on the team in tackles. He was named a captain before this season, a rare honor for an underclassman.
“Ethan understands the game and plays it at a high level,” Flowers said. “He is truly loved and appreciated by his teammates and coaches.”
