Berks football has produced some outstanding names over the past 20 years, sending numerous players on to major college football programs and several to the professional ranks.

There’s more outstanding talent ready to take the field this season, with the Berks Class of 2023 featuring several Division I recruits and another superb group of talent that including rising juniors and sophomores as well.

To recognize the top players in Berks football MikeDragoSports.com has selected the “Starting Lineup,” a preseason All-Berks team that includes the 12 top linemen, backs, receivers, linebackers and specialists.

The “Starting Lineup” team is presented by GoBigRecruiting.com.

Ross Tucker, co-founder and CEO of GoBigRecruiting.com and a former NFL lineman, had input selecting the 12-man team, as did Berks coaches, who were invited to nominate their top players.

Tucker, a former Wyomissing lineman, has deep contacts throughout college football and continues to remain dialed into Berks football. He’ll offer comments on each of the “Starting Lineup” selections.

Players were selected based on their expected performance this season and their college potential. Two-way players were given special consideration. The team will be a mix of linemen, backs, offensive and defensive players.

One player will be introduced each day, starting Monday.

After the “Starting Lineup” team has been announced MikeDragoSports.com will present the “Berks Watch List,” which will include 50 more other top players to watch this season.
