Former KU running back Craig Reynolds signs with Lions
Former Kutztown University running back Craig Reynolds has signed a free agent contract with the Detroit Lions. Following stints with three other teams in the NFL, Reynolds visited with the Lions earlier this week and the team opted to bring him on board. “God has blessed me with another opportunity to play, and I’m ready to get after it,” Reynolds said in a statement. “I love this game and I’ve worked hard to be in this position. I’m excited for this opportunity in Detroit.” A three-time Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Eastern Division First Team and Don Hansen Gazette All-Region honoree, Reynolds was an honorable mention All-America by the Don Hansen Gazette following the 2018 season. He ranked fourth in the PSAC and 16th in NCAA Division II with 152.27 all-purpose yards per game. Reynolds ended up second in program history in career all-purpose yards (5,277) and third in rushing yards (2,650). He is KU’s all-time leader in rushing touchdowns (35). Last season, the Willow Grove native appeared in two games for the Jacksonville Jaguars, recording one rushing attempt for 4 yards, to go along with one reception for 3 yards. Reynolds first broke into the NFL with the Washington Redskins, signing a deal as an undrafted free agent in May of 2019. Following a move to their practice squad, he then joined the Atlanta Falcons that November before signing with the Jaguars. |
