Wilson grad Justin Weller entering NCAA transfer portal

Justin Weller, a former Wilson wide receiver named the top walk-on at Penn State this season, announced Monday that he has entered the NCAA transfer portal. He has one year of eligibility remaining.

Weller, a fifth-year senior, announced the decision on Twitter this afternoon, writing: “Thank you to everyone at Penn State. These last five years have been unforgettable. With one year of eligibility left, I have decided to enter the transfer portal.”

The 6-foot, 198-pound Weller appeared in 12 games with the Nittany Lions, nine during the 2021 season.

He was the leading receiver, with 43 receptions, on the 2016 Wilson team that went 12-2 and won a District 3 Class 6A championship.

He received Penn State’s Outstanding Run-on Award for the 2021 season, given to the top non-scholarship player on the roster.

Weller is a three-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree. In December he received the Nittany Lion Club Academic Achievement Award, which goes to the senior with the highest grade-point average. He has earned a master’s degree in Real Estate Analysis and Development and an undergraduate degree in finance.
