Spartans earn 6 spots on Coaches’ Class 4A All-State team; Raiders land 4

One play kept Wyomissing for playing in its seventh straight district championship game but the Spartans’ talent was undeniable.
That’s evident on the Pennsylvania Football News Class 4A Coaches Select All-State team, which includes six Spartans, with first-team spots for Chase Eisenhower, Justice Hardy, Andrew Bresnahan, and Zander Westwood.
They are among 10 Berks County players selected for the 67-player team, which was selected in voting by coaches across the state. More than 300 coaches nominated players and took part in the voting.
Twin Valley scored first-team picks for Greyson Miller, Lucas Myers, and Ryan Rementer; Drew Engle was a second-team selection.
Marcus Armistead and Keegan Maher of Wyomissing earned second-team spots.
Eisenhower, a 6-foot, 220-pound senior, was a four-year starter for Wyomissing. He was selected as a fullback after rushing for 737 yards and averaging 7.4 yards per carry. He scored 12 touchdowns.
Hardy, a 5-10, 190-pound junior, was selected at halfback after leading the team with 979 rushing yards and 19 touchdowns. He averaged 10.7 yards per carry. He was named Defensive Back of the Year in Section 4 of the Lancaster-Lebanon League.

Bresnahan, a 6-4, 210-pound senior, earned a spot at guard after converting from tight end following his junior season. He graded out as the top blocker for offense that ranked No. 4 in 37-team Lancaster-Lebanon League in total offense, No. 4 in rushing and No. 3 in scoring.
Westwood, a 6-2, 210-pound junior, was selected as a long snapper. He was a starter at inside linebacker and made 36 tackles, including four for loss.
Miller, a 6-1, 260-pound senior, was selected at defensive tackle after recording a team-high 21 tackles for loss. He had a pair of interceptions, returning both for TDs. He was the best lineman on a defense that ranked No. 1 in league in scoring defense and helped the Raiders win their first district title.
Myers, a 6-1, 210-pound junior, was picked at outside linebacker after fronting a defense that was ranked No. 1 in the league in total defense. He recorded 140 tackles, a team-high 12 sacks, and 21 tackles for loss. He was named Linebacker of the Year in Section 4.
Rementer, a 6-1, 200-pound senior, led Twin Valley with 145 tackles, had 15 tackles for loss, 6.5 sacks, and shared team lead with three interceptions.
Engle, a 5-10, 185-pound senior running back, set program records with 2,095 rushing yards in a season and 4,212 in career. He averaged 9.3 yards per carry. He capped his career with 176 yards and a TD in the PIAA championship game against Southern Lehigh.
Armistead, a 5-8, 150-pound senior, was selected as a cornerback. He had three interceptions, taking one back for a touchdown, and a fumble recovery. He recorded 21 tackles and was considered the Spartans’ best open-field tackler.
Maher, a 5-10, 190-pound senior, was named as placekicker after converting 40-of-41 PATs and all three of his field goals, with a long of 38. He recorded touchbacks on 19% of his kickoffs. He was named Berks Specialist of the Year for the second straight year and an all-league punter.
Wyomissing finished 10-2, its only losses coming to Twin Valley in the regular season and to Susquehanna Township 37-35 in the district semifinals, a game decided when the Indians scored with no time remaining.
Twin Valley finished 14-1, losing to Southern Lehigh 43-21 in the PIAA championship game.
