Wilson grad Cam Jones, a two-time All-Patriot League pick at Holy Cross, has announced he’s entering the NCAA transfer portal.

He started 10 games at cornerback this season as a junior, led the team with eight pass breakups, and was a first-team all-conference pick. He was a second-team pick last season, his first as a starter.

Jones has two years of athletic eligibility remaining.

“I want to express my profound gratitude to Holy Cross for shaping me both on and off the field,” Jones wrote on his X (Twitter) account. “This community has poured into me in ways I’ll never forget. And I’m truly blessed to have been surrounded by teammates, coaches, staff, and alumni who continually supported, inspired, and invested in me throughout my journey. Your belief in me has meant more than I can put into words.”

Holy Cross, expected to be a top contender in the Patriot League this season, stumbled to a 3-9 finish. It ended the season with wins over Bucknell and Georgetown.

Jones’ play was a highlight for the Crusaders. The team captain recorded 59 tackles and ended his season with a 23-yard Pick-6 in a win over Georgetown at Fenway Park.

Jones has 115 career tackles, 20 pass breakups and three interceptions in 23 starts.

“I think God and my family for guiding me through every high and low, and for giving me the strength to chase my dreams with purpose,” Jones wrote on his social media account. “Holy Cross will always be a part of me. Thank you for everything.”
