Official pairings won’t be announced until Sunday but it appears safe to say seven Berks County teams will be heading to the District 3 Tournament.

There are still several games being played today, and they could impact the final spots and game locations for a number of matchups.

At this point, according to power ratings posted on the District 3 website, Berks Catholic, Twin Valley, Wyomissing, and Wilson will receive first-round byes. Schuylkill Valley, Exeter, and Muhlenberg will play opening-round games Friday, Oct. 31.

Berks Catholic (8-2) secured the No. 1 seed in Class 3A with its win over Annville-Cleona (8-2) Friday. The Saints will open at home Nov. 7 against the winner of the 3/6 game. Schuylkill Valley (5-5) will be the No. 6 seed and open on the road. Trinity (7-3) and Annville-Cleona are separated by just one point in the battle for the No. 2 seed.

In Class 5A, Exeter (8-2) is currently ranked No. 7, just two points behind Mechanicsburg (9-1). Either way, the Eagles will open at home on Friday. If they are the No. 7 seed they will face the No. 10 seed, likely Lower Dauphin (7-3). If they are No. 6 they would face the No. 11 seed, likely Red Land (7-3).

Muhlenberg (8-2) dropped three spots with its loss to Conestoga Valley and appears to have lost its chance to open at home. The Muhls are currently No. 9; if that holds they will open at No. 8 Spring Grove.

In Class 6A, Wilson (8-2) is No. 4 and will host a quarterfinal Nov. 7 against No. 5 York High (6-3).
