Week 2: Fearless Friday Football Forecast, presented by State Farm agent Sean Reali

State Farm Ad

As expected, Week 1 was a rough week for the Forecasters; well, at least for some of us. It wasn’t so difficult for former champs Matt Hagy and Sam Cavalieri, each of whom posted an opening 13-1 card. Impressive.

It wasn’t all that challenging for the four guys who doubled down on Fleetwood, then saw Beau Fegely run wild in a romp over Kutztown. Going in the Forecasters were split down the middle on that one, 6-6.

Not so many close calls here in Week 2, though the Tigers are again involved in a toss-up. They’re the slight favorite, 7-5, by the Forecasters to beat Perkiomen Valley. But then again, what do we know?

It’s early in the season and we’re still not sure about a lot of teams. We are sure about Exeter, Wilson, and Twin Valley, each of which is a unanimous pick this week as is, surprisingly, Muhlenberg.

Did the Forecasters forget that Reading High has claimed the Battle of the Border trophy three straight years now? Four Forecasters have doubled down on the Muhls; that’s more than in any other game.

Each week, MikeDragoSports.com staff writers, photographers, and contributors, along with writers from football partner LNP/Lancasteronline, will pick all the Berks games, along with other selected other Lancaster-Lebanon League games.

We’ll keep standings and the Forecaster with the most points at the end of the season will win a (relatively) big prize!

Each correct pick earns one point; if a Forecaster doubles down on a Berks team and is correct he gets two points. Each Fearless Forecaster can down double on a given team only once during the regular season (and once again during the postseason).

This week’s games:

  • Wilson at Plymouth-Whitemarsh
  • Reading High at Muhlenberg
  • Exeter at Boyertown
  • Perkiomen Valley at Gov. Mifflin
  • Upper Perkiomen at Fleetwood
  • Elco at Conrad Weiser
  • Twin Valley at Selinsgrove
  • Schuylkill Valley at Daniel Boone
  • Executive Education at Berks Catholic
  • Midd-West at Hamburg
  • York Tech at Kutztown
  • Ephrata at Manheim Central
  • The Haverford School at Wyomissing
