Nick Singleton, Gov. Mifflin
Senior running back/linebacker
Q: Who is the high school player you most looked up to when you were a kid?
I looked up to Sam Muller when I was a freshman because of how he carried himself and how good of a leader he was for the team, and he always helped me with anything I needed.
Q: When you visit the creamery at Penn State, what’s your go-to flavor?
Cookie dough.
Q: Who was Gov. Mifflin’s most under-rated player this season?

I would say (senior cornerback) Lamaj (Northan) because we really didn’t know how good he was till the season started and he was a big key to our success this season.
Q: You’re in charge of the lunch menu at Gov. Mifflin: What’s the first thing you add? And the first thing you get rid of?
I would add Mama’s pizza and get rid of the lasagna.
Q: You’re pretty good at football. Which sport are you the worst at?
Hockey. It’s my least favorite sport and I know I’m not really good at it.
Q: Which teammate made you laugh the most this season?
Probably (senior lineman) Jose (Landrom) because he’s always crazy on the field, and off the field he’s even crazier; he’s the funniest person I know.
Q: Knowing what you know now, what advice would you give to incoming freshman football players at Gov. Mifflin?
Listen to the coaches. Don’t take a play off. And have fun, because it goes by real quick.
Q: What’s best thing about the football tradition at Gov. Mifflin?
At the end of a game and practice we would go to the end zone and break it down by saying these words: Do what’s right, do your best, treat others the way you want to be treated. And then we would say ‘family,’ on three.
Q: What’s the one thing you think you’ll miss most about high school football?
Probably (reaching) the end zone and looking up in the stands seeing everyone going nuts. Most importantly I’ll miss playing with all my friends.
Q: What’s your favorite high school football memory?
My favorite memory of my high school career is my 11th grade year when we got our district championship trophy and medals.
