Former Wilson assistant coach Chad Brubaker has been named an assistant coach for Pennsylvania’s Big 33 Classic.
Brubaker, the head coach at Spring-Ford, will assist Coatesville’s Matt Ortega, who will be Pennsylvania’s head coach for the 68th annual game.

Kickoff is set for 7:30 on Sunday, May 25, at Cumberland Valley’s Chapman Field. Pennsylvania will again be playing Maryland.
Other assistant coaches include Justin Bienkowski of Port Allegany, Homer DeLattre of Hollidaysburg, Joe Headen of Susquehanna Township, Jon LeDonne of Pine-Richland, Jim McCarroll of Pocono Mt. West, and Jesse Shay of Red Lion.
Brubaker is in his 15th season as head coach at Spring-Ford.
He was an offensive coordinator and assistant coach for 12 seasons prior to that at Wilson, spending eight years on Jim Cantafio’s staff and four on Doug Dahm’s staff. During that time Wilson won seven Lancaster-Lebanon League section titles and two District 3 championships.
Brubaker began his coaching career at the junior high level with Solanco. He later coached at Elizabethtown for three years.
“Being chosen as Big 33 head football coach is a huge honor for me, my family, and for all players and coaches who have played and worked for me for the last 27 football seasons,” Ortega said. “I look forward to leading these talented athletes as we showcase their skills and passion for the game on this grand stage.”
Rosters for the Big 33 Classic and the East/West All-Star game will be announced on the PSFCA website on Feb. 14.
The East/West games will be played Sunday, May 18, at noon and 5.
