Cameron Small, Muhls continue promising start with win over Lebanon

LEBANON — Cameron Small rushed for 194 yards and two touchdowns in Muhlenberg’s 55-36 Lancaster-Lebanon Section 2 victory over Lebanon Friday night at Alumni Stadium.
The Muhls (3-1) piled up 412 rushing yards in sending the Cedars (0-4) to their 36th consecutive loss.
“Our guys did well in the first half,” said Muhlenberg coach Rob Flowers, who saw his team take a 47-12 lead into halftime. “Overall, it was a great win for our community, for our journey and for our program.”
Muhlenberg took advantage of a Lebanon defense that has allowed 40 or more points in each of its first four games, scoring touchdowns on seven straight possessions to begin the game.
As a result the Muhls held a 47-12 lead at halftime after four different players found the end zone. Javiehn Ortiz had three touchdowns and Mike Miller Jr. had two.
Lebanon pulled within 47-28 early in the fourth quarter, mostly after the Muhls began sending in their backup players, but Muhlenberg quickly extinguished any hope of a Cedars comeback when coach Rob Flowers put the starters back in the game and they punched it in with an Adriel Baez 3-yard touchdown with 6:39 remaining in the game.
