10 Questions with Wyomissing’s Amory Thompson, presented by ATT Sports, Inc.
Each Wednesday MikeDragoSports.com goes one-on-one with a Berks football player to find out what’s on his mind — on the field and off.
Presented by ATT Sports, Inc.
Amory Thompson, Wyomissing
Senior cornerback/running back
Q: Outside of sports, do you have any hobbies?
Me and my comrades like to go to Blue Marsh Lake to fish. We don’t really catch too much; when we do it’s carp and sun fish. We’re currently planning a deep sea fishing trip for the summer.
Q: If you could use a “lifeline” during a critical moment of a close game who would you call for advice?
Tom Brady. If you call anyone else you’re crazy.
Q: Who’s got the best nickname on your team?
The best nickname might have to be “Big Draco,” for Aiden Mack. It means “Big Dog.”

Q: What’s your favorite class in school right now?
Definitely Multimedia. It’s with our defensive backs coach, Coach (Andy) Siggins. We do stuff with cameras and technology. I’m currently working on clips for a senior movie. I mean, you can’t really ask for a better last period class.
Q: If you could be recruited by any colleges in the country which would be at the top of the list?
I’m going to go with probably the most popular answers and say Oregon or ‘Bama. You can’t go wrong with the Oregon gear. And who doesn’t want to be recruited by Nick Saban?
Q: Which of your teammates makes you laugh the most at practice?
I’d have to say either Aiden Mack or Ryker Jones. Aiden has something stupid to say about every situation. Ryker just makes random noises and impersonates Mario and Luigi.
Q: What’s the most unique thing about the football tradition at Wyomissing?
How close and tight-knit everyone in the community is. Everyone is always there for each other in every situation. The whole community takes family to a whole other level and it’s probably what makes Wyomissing so successful.
Q: What’s the one thing that someone on the Wyo staff has said that you think you’ll remember 20 years from now?
“You can’t win them all if you don’t win the first one.” Great saying that I’m going to miss from from our trainer “Giese” (Dan Giesen).
Q: Who’s the high school player you most looked up to when you were a kid?
Before I got to high school I watched a lot of Tate Martell highlights. He was on a TV show and I saw that they never lost a game so obviously why not watch that guy?
Q: What’s your favorite football memory?
It would have to be winning a third straight district title on the home field with my guys. I feel like our seniors helped a significant amount with the teams before us, so it’s great to come back and do it again. Three in a row is very hard to do, and it was just great to do it at home in front of all our friends and family.
