10 Questions with Twin Valley’s Ryan Corros, presented by ATT Sports, Inc.

Each Wednesday MikeDragoSports.com goes one-on-one with a Berks football player, to find out what’s on his mind — on the field and off.

Presented by ATT Sports, Inc.

Raiders linebacker Ryan Corros

Ryan Corros, Twin Valley

Senior, Offensive Tackle and Linebacker

Q: What’s your biggest motivation for success in football?

I strive to be better than whoever I line up against on a Friday night, and I want to be successful at the next level. Simply knowing that there is someone out there that is better than me drives me to be the best version of myself every day.

Q: Who’s the most under-rated player on your team?

There are too many to just name one, but a few names that pop into my head are junior Alex Collins, senior Seth Hatfield, (junior fullback) Nick Harris and sophomore Markell Norris. We have so many young guys who play key roles on either the practice field or on Friday nights that don’t get anywhere near the recognition they deserve.

Q: Other than your home field, what’s your favorite place to play?

It’s always fun to play at Daniel Boone because it’s right up the road and a lot of people from our student section are typically there, which amplifies the energy in the stadium. They’re also our main rival so the games against them are really competitive.

Q: Where do you see yourself in 10 years, and what will you be doing?

I hope to have secured a job and started a family. I hope to still be around the game as a coach. I’ve put too much time in and have learned too much from the game to pack it all up and walk away once my time on the field comes to an end.

Q: If you won the Megamillions jackpot what’s the first thing you would buy?

I would probably give a lot of money to my parents. They have been at every game, drove me to countless practices, and have done a lot for me over the years and it would be awesome to repay them.

Q: If you could switch to another position for your final game, which would it be?

Quarterback. Without a doubt. Every non-skill player dreams about being called in as an emergency quarterback and winning the game for the team.

Q: There has been a lot of attention placed on concussions in recent years. How concerned are you about that when you take the field?

I am not usually too concerned about them; our coaching staff has implemented techniques that prevent head-on head collisions. However, it is always something that is in the back of your mind just because of how fast the game is.

Q: You’re good at football. What sport are you the worst at?

I am absolutely terrible at soccer. We had to play it during one of our gym class units.

Q: What’s the one thing you think you’ll miss most about high school football?

It sounds cliche but I think I will miss everything: Lifts, practices, team dinners. Those are going to be the times I remember the most, even in my adulthood. I’ll miss the teammates that I’ve left behind just as much as I miss the teammates who have moved on before me.

Q: What’s your favorite football memory?

It has to be last year’s Senior Night. It was really nice to be able to watch the guys that I played alongside my whole football career celebrate the sacrifices they’ve made for our program. No doubt a bittersweet memory but they’ll all go on to do great things.

10 Questions, presented by ATT Sports, Inc., will appear each Wednesday on MikeDragoSports.com throughout the 2021 football season.
