Each Wednesday MikeDragoSports.com goes one-on-one with a Berks football player, to find out what’s on his mind — on the field and off.

Brett Organtini, Conrad Weiser
Senior Linebacker

Q. If they made a movie about the Conrad Weiser football team, which actor would be best to play the part of Coach Moyer?
I would cast Clint Eastwood, because he is hard-nosed and doesn’t take crap from anyone, just like Coach Moyer.
Q: Do you have any superstitions for game day?
For game day, I always wear my American Flag headband for every game. And before the first kickoff or kickoff return, I always do the sign of the cross.
Q: If you could use a “lifeline” during a critical moment of a close game, who would you call for help or advice?
I would call my dad (Tom, a former Scouts defensive end and fullback), because he would know what to do in that situation, and he was big on defense so he would develop a plan.

Q: What’s the last book you read because you wanted to (not because a teacher made you)?
The last book I read for fun was “Carrie,” by Stephen King
Q: Which of your teammates makes you laugh the most at practice?
I would say that (senior lineman) Cameron Swanson makes me laugh the most because he is always saying stupid stuff or joking around with other kids and I can’t help but laugh.
Q: It’s in-vogue at the college level to design flashy uniforms. What would do to Conrad Weiser’s uniforms given the chance to re-design them?
I would want to throw back to the years when the colors were red, white and blue because I always thought those jerseys were nice. I would probably want blue uniforms with red colors, and white liner.

Q: If you had a chance to play in the NFL, which coach – current or past – would you most want to play for?
I would want to play for Buddy Ryan. He was a a big part in the ’85 Bears’ strong defense and he is a coach who focuses on strong defense. He believes in hard-nosed football.
Q: What’s the one game you’re looking most forward to playing most this season?
Wyomissing. I respect Wyomissing and the success they have had and I haven’t played Wyo since I was in youth, so it would be nice to play them again. (The Scouts play at Wyomissing in the season finale, Oct. 30.)

Q: What’s your all-time favorite football movie?
“Remember the Titans.” I love that movie because it truly shows the definition of hard work and shows how to overcome differences and work together to win a championship.
Q: What’s your favorite football memory?
When I had my first interception (earlier this season) against Fleetwood. I have always been known as a run-stopper linebacker and I never had an interception, but it was always my goal. But the moment I saw the ball tipped I took my opportunity. After that, I immediately ran to the sideline to hug my dad, whom I told I would get an interception my senior year.
